Charlemagne
Year was officially inaugurated on Saturday 11 September 1999. More than
15,000 people attended the Philip Glass concert on the Sint-Pietersplein.
The entire work, whose theme was the story of creation, was translated and
subtitled by two Daylight Led Displays measuring 12 metres by 50 cm. This
allowed even those right at the back to follow everything perfectly.
